  • This record describes data from the : Cloud Condensation Nuclei Counter (CCN) collected on the Marine National Facility RV Investigator Event voyage IN2015_E01. This was a cold-water trial voyage for the RV Investigator departing Hobart on the 29th January and returning to Hobart on the 18th of February, 2015. The CCN was performed using instrument DMT CCN100. It measures the number of particles that are able to form CCN at 0.05% supersaturation. Calibrations carried out by voyage scientists.

  • This record describes echosounder data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2015_E01, which departed Hobart on the 29 Jan 2015 and returning to Hobart on the 19 Feb 2015, after successfully testing equipment at 65° south. The Simrad EK60 split beam echosounders 38, 70, 120, 200 and 333 KHz were used to acquire water column and bathymetry data between Hobart and Antarctica. Data are stored in *.raw *.bot and *.idx format at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. There are 906 files totalling 43.1 GB of raw data in this dataset. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report.

  • This record describes data from the The Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometer (PTR-MS) collected on the Marine National Facility RV Investigator Event voyage IN2015_E01. This was a trial voyage for the RV Investigator departing Hobart on the 29th January and returning to Hobart on the 18th of February, 2015. The Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometer (PTR-MS) is an online instrument which measures a wide range of atmospheric volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in real time, including dimethyl sulphide, isoprene, monoterpenes and a range of oxygenated VOCs.

  • This record describes gravity data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2015_E01, which departed Hobart on the 29 Jan 2015 and returned to Hobart on the 19 Feb 2015, after successfully testing equipment at 65° south. Gravity data was only recorded until 7 February due to problems with the instrument. The gravity meter instrument is a MicroG Lacoste Air-Sea II. Data are stored in .ENV and .DAT data files at CSIRO. There are 24 files totalling 150 MB of raw data in this dataset. A wharf tie was undertaken at Hobart, at the old Elizabeth St location using a Scintrex Autograv CG-5. Wharf tie data can be found in T003039_wharf_tie.TXT, which is stored with the raw data. No processing has been conducted on this data. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report.

  • This record describes multibeam echosounder data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2015_E01, which departed Hobart on the 29 Jan 2015 and returned to Hobart on the 19 Feb 2015, after successfully testing equipment at 65° south. The Kongsberg EM710 multibeam echosounder was used to acquire seafloor bathymetry and backscatter information between Hobart and Antarctic waters. Ping rate varied according to depth. Data are stored in *.all raw format at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. There are 97 files totalling 16.2 GB of raw data in this dataset. Sound velocity profiles were applied to this data during data acquisition. Tide corrections were not applied to the processed data. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report. Additional data products available on request.

  • This record describes data from the Condensation Particle Counter (CPC) collected on the Marine National Facility RV Investigator Event voyage IN2015_E01. This was a cold-water trial voyage for the RV Investigator departing Hobart on the 29th January and returning to Hobart on the 18th of February, 2015. The Condensation Particle Counter (CPC) TSI 3772 measures the concentration of the total number of particles greater than 10 nm in diameter.

  • This record describes XBT data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2015_E01, which departed Hobart on the 29 Jan 2015 and returned to Hobart on the 19 Feb 2015, after successfully testing equipment at 65° south. TuroXBT hardware and Devil software were used. Data are stored in netCDF files at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. There were 14 successful XBT drops over the course of this voyage. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report.

  • This record describes echosounder data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2015_E01, which departed Hobart on the 29 Jan 2015 and returned to Hobart on the 19 Feb 2015, after successfully testing equipment at 65° south. The Simrad ME70 echosounder was used to acquire water column data between Hobart and Antarctica. Data are stored in Simrad *.raw raw format at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. There are 57 files totalling 43.4 GB of raw data in this dataset. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report.
